Yeah renting would be a good way of giving you an idea if you would actually use it and how many of people would.

That's what I meant when I said about making your own. Although I was referring to actually connecting up the cab style joysticks and buttons too, which is what will take a lot of effort. I guess you could skip that and just run some controller cables through the joystick holes..?

nah, you can buy kits to convert a pc into a cab with the proper joysticks and the buttons
