Challenge The Riddler!!

Hey folks, time for some computery (game) based riddles. The format is as follows, I'll give a four-line riddle describing something from a game, could be a character, place, anything.
Points will be awarded for correct answers, the number of points is dependant on the difficulty of the riddle and I'll be keeping a scoreboard.
If no significant progress is made after time, clues shall be given.
If you want to make a riddle yourself, PM it to me and I'll post it, giving you full credit. Keeps things simple.
Anyway, enough banter, here's the first riddle!!
For 3 Points.
"I have no mind, I have no soul,
But I can help you reach your goal.
Yet while without me you can't go on,
Once you have used me, I'm sure as gone.
Who/What am I?"

Small Key is incorrect.
Clue is in the "Who/What". It could be interpreted as either.
