eee-900 - What do people think?

Obviously not for gaming, but as a work laptop to take to lectures/whatever. I'm thinking of getting one simply because this laptop is a bit too heavy for me to carry around and I'd like a nice little one to take to lectures. I considered getting a macbook but they cost quite a bit more... (at least, they did last time I had a look).

Unless anyone knows of a cheaper/smaller/nicer one ? (Bearing in mind this comes in lots of pretty colours! XD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Asus-eee-5colors-2.jpg )

Don't bother with a Macbook since they cost a fortune and if you only intend on doing work then it's pointless. This Eee seems alright as long as you go for the 20GB Linux option rather than Windows. Based on the space difference, the inevitable performance increase by using Linux plus with a tiny screen I'd prefer to have a flexible Linux desktop to play with than an XP one.

Still, your eyeballs will die and your typing speed will no doubts fall to 2wpm on that keyboard. Unless you have this handy little laptop connected up to a full size keyboard and monitor...

Also, I want you to buy it and install Vista on it. Just for fun. Unless...does Vista actively refuse to install on low spec machines?

Yeah the one with linux was the one I was thinking of getting.

Haha, my hands are small. Small keyboard hopefully wont be that much of a problem. Small screen though... I do have bad eyes...

Just incase you haven't spotted this yet, the Eee series has a forum so you should probably read a bunch of posts there before buying.
